Position Summary

The Internship Program with WPS Health Solutions is comprised of four key components. WPS interns will primarily focus on the responsibilities within their functional areas, as it relates to their respective field of study. In a group setting, interns will collaborate on the “Pay-It-Forward Project." The third component relates to exposure to corporate culture and training to aid in future career successes. At the conclusion of the program, interns will participate in a final presentation for senior executives by showcasing their experience in the program and functional areas.

We are a small team, but we play an important role with the Finance department. Our team is responsible for driving change and leveraging technology to do so. From researching technology and tools to project management, we solve problems and implement solutions.

The Intern will work directly with the Finance and Accounting teams to understand their needs and recommend an appropriate solution. When an appropriate solution is identified, the Analyst will lead or participate in the project team to implement the solution.

In this role you will:

  • Develop more efficient methods of meeting the department’s reporting needs
  • Collaborate with work groups to improve the flow of data between Accounting systems
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement by working with Finance team members
  • Maximize use of existing corporate tools and technologies to improve processes
  • Manage project implementations, including documenting requirements
  • Train Finance and Accounting users on tools and technologies
  • Work collaboratively with team members throughout WPS
  • Learn a lot and develop a well-rounded business toolkit that will serve you well wherever you go

This role could be a good fit if:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in higher education or a recent graduate in areas such as Computer Science, Data Analytics, Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Have exceptional analytical skills and experience using the Microsoft suite of tools, experience using SharePoint, Power BI, and Flows is preferred
  • Write and speak well
  • Are organized, persistent, curious, and an independent thinker
  • Can both lead and be a great team member
  • Desire to work hard and have fun

About Madison, WI
