Basic Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent is required.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities for this Position

General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for an Electronic Assembler. This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation’s core defense/intelligence services and systems. General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.

Qualified applicants will perform assembly of complex electronic, mechanical and electro-mechanical products while working within a team environment as well as independently as required.

  • Rigorous product requirements demand strict attention to detail and an aptitude towards providing quality workmanship.
  • Circuit card Assembly
  • Development and refinement of manufacturing processes
  • Reading of drawings and trouble shooting
  • Electronic, Mechanical and Electro-mechanical assembly.
  • Installs components and sub-assemblies in accordance with provided work instructions.
  • Assembles printed circuit boards following specifications and work instructions.
  • Uses electronic, hand powered, and pneumatic tools.
  • Keeps accurate records for build information, anomalies, defects and test data.
  • Maintains all manufacturing related equipment and facilities. Contributes to the workplace organization initiatives.

Requirements

  • Able to read, understand and follow technical drawings, datasheets, and written work instructions.
  • Provides feedback to manufacturing engineers on ways to improve procedural steps and process implementation.
  • Exhibits computer skills
  • Strong verbal and technical writing skills
  • Possesses and maintains a good attendance record and able to work overtime when required (nights and weekends)
  • Strong organizational tendencies and practices.
  • Physical Requirements (Lifting, Walking, Bending, Stooping, Kneeling, etc.
  • Must be able to lift 40 lbs. frequently and at times, for 8-12 12 hours a day.
  • Proficient in cable and wire harness assembly
  • Able to read, understand and follow technical drawings, datasheets, and written work instructions
  • Experienced with and able to use hand tools and small power tools

Workplace Options:

  • 100% On-Site at Facility located in Canonsburg, PA

Target salary range: USD $16.50/Hr. - USD $17.56/Hr. This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled.
