Job Description

As the Global Occupational Safety Manager you focus is on occupational safefty and you are responsible for the development and monitoring of global policies, requirements, standards, procedures, tools, and processes in the areas of Health, Security, and Safety (gHSS), which shall be in compliance with relevant laws and regulations of each region. In this role you provide guidance to all functions within ARLANXEO on HSS related topics, conduct analyses of incidents and root causes, and promote global safety programs. You facilitate effective communication of safety concepts, performance, best practices, and expectations among the ARL global safety community through regional & global meetings as well as site visits, while demonstrating and increasing influential safety leadership within the organization.

This is a Germany based remote role with focus on activities in EMEA. In this role you are part of the HSSEQ department.

YOUR KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop the HSE principles, beliefs, values, and policies while obtaining approval from management.
  • Promote, support, and develop the appropriate leadership style, attitude, and tools to achieve an injury and incident free working environment
  • Control, manage, and maintain the global HSE management and reporting systems.
  • Monitor safety related KPI's on a global level to improve the overall HSS performance of ARLANXEO
  • Support the development of an interdependent safety and performance culture
  • Take the lead in major incident investigations and promote the development of site investigators through active coaching
  • Ensure active HSS reporting from all levels of the organization (shop floor through senior managers)
  • Visit sites to check compliance with ARLANXEO requirements, monitor the progress of implementation of the specific standards, and provide guidance to site management on HSS activities
  • Perform analyses of incidents, near hits, and root causes in order to establish trends and mitigating actions
  • Plan and implement safety and health programs and promoteall activities (e.g. inspections, campaigns and competitions) that will improve safety and health performance.
  • Establish active sharing of best safety practices and HSE communication between the ARLANXEO sites and departments worldwide
  • Provide regional HSS services as needed to the specific region hosting this position

WHO YOU ARE:

  • Bachelor / Master degree and formal training in Safety and Risk Management, Process Safety, Safety Leadership, and Incident Analysis
  • At least 5 years of experience in safety, with focus on occupational safety
  • Project Management Experience
  • Good communication and social skills
  • Specialist knowledge of HSS strategies, policies, requirements, standards, and practices
  • Teambuilding & Collaboration
  • Change & Result Oriented
  • Culturally & Emotionally Intelligent
  • Willing to travel 15 to 20%
