University Advancement (UA) supports the entire CMU community in building relationships with key constituencies and securing the financial resources the university needs to continue its ascent. As the division grows, we are seeking an associate director, Advancement Information Systems. This is an exciting opportunity if you thrive in an interesting and fast-paced work environment.

Reporting to the executive director, Research and Prospect Management, you will be responsible for leading the User Support and Training program within Advancement Information Systems. You will also design and deliver training catered to the needs of colleagues using the T360 Salesforce application; support delivery of training provided by SME experts; provide initial support for questions submitted by users of the system; help to troubleshoot issues; and maintain appropriate documentation for key functions in the system.

Your core responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing a comprehensive training program for the Advancement Division as related to the Salesforce platform and related software applications.
  • Serving as an evangelist for the T360 platform, Salesforce, and Advancement Information Systems (AIS). Leading marketing and branding initiatives. Helping AIS management collect feedback and assessing satisfaction with delivered services and systems.
  • Cultivating relationships with colleagues with the goal of uncovering potential enhancements to the system. Providing business analysis of colleagues' processes, identifying opportunities for increased efficiencies, and then advocating for the prioritization of user community requests. Often representing the user community in governance and project-related conversations. Occasionally might be serving as project manager for cross-team implementations. Helping increase transparency into the requests for new features and the thought process behind project prioritization.
  • Providing a primary point of contact for user questions related to usage of advancement's technology systems and troubleshooting issues within the application.
  • Managing user access granting and deprovisioning processes.
  • Keeping up to date with the functionality offered by Salesforce and Affinaquest in order to increase the effective use of the software by Advancement colleagues.
  • Leading, coaching, and evaluating the performance of direct reports.
  • Helping maximize effectiveness across the Division of University Advancement through other duties as assigned.

You should be able to travel domestically and be willing to work outside of normal business hours as needed.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree is required.
  • Three to five years of relevant training experience. Experience creating and leading training sessions, and developing a training program required. Prior experience managing and mentoring team members required.
  • Experience training on technical systems, business analysis or product owner preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce preferred.
  • Project management or business analysis certification preferred.
