About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Director of Employee Relations, the Manager, Training and Development assesses institution-wide developmental needs to drive training initiatives and identifies and coordinates suitable training solutions for employees. In addition to leading the Trainers and Instructional Designer, this position actively searches, designs, and implements effective methods to educate, enhance and recognize performance.

This position is hybrid, with the expectation of a schedule that includes onsite and work from home opportunity. This position is expected to work the hours needed to meet professional responsibilities.

What you'll do:

* Conducts annual training and development needs assessments and organizes priorities. Organizes each training program development and ownership between the members of the team for implementation and roll-out.

* Leads the day-to-day operations of the team to ensure training programs are delivered and communicated appropriately. Prepares communications on upcoming programs and socializes new programs across campus.

* Keeps a pulse on learning gaps by connecting regularly with Employee Relations, HR Business Partners, Staff, Provost Office, and Leaders across the institution. Reviews course evaluations to assess which topics are most relevant to employee needs or which trainers are most effective in delivery certain topics. Meets regularly with leaders to determine strategic goals of the university and departments across campus.

* Collaborates with the Purpose Center to train staff and leaders on CliftonStrengths. Partner with Employee Relations and HR Business Partners on talent assessment tools and organizational development needs. Creates tools for the HR Business Partners to execute on succession plans.

* Works with leaders to identify unit specific training needs and develops programs to meet those needs. Runs onsite and virtual trainings and ability to determine which avenue would be most beneficial for the content and audience.

* Leads New Employee Orientation and roll out of Onboarding materials and training for leaders across campus. Ensures that Orientation is setup appropriately and all content is up to date to provide a great experience for new employees.

* Assist in leading the Learning Management System implementation and utilization.

* Other duties as assigned by Director, Employee Relations.

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor's degree required in organizational development/leadership, human resources, or related field.

Experience:

4 years of experience in training and leadership development as well as experience leading others.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of curriculum and instructional design and application for effective adult learning.

Thorough knowledge of developing organizational effectiveness and leadership development programs.

Demonstrated skills in supervising, coaching, and developing others.

Organizational and intrapersonal skills with acute attention to detail.

Ability to build strong relationships and collaborate cross functionally.

Ability to learn the University's organizational structure, strategic plan, priorities, mission, and vision.

Knowledge of Learning Management Systems.

Ability to effectively plan, organize, develop, and implement comprehensive employee development programs.
