We are currently seeking a Hospital Tripper /Direct Support Professional to join our Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Services (IDD) division in Coraopolis.

POSITION OVERVIEW

Responsibilities include but may not be limited to:

  • Providing individualized care, activities of daily living, including proper maintenance of living area.
  • Guiding residents in leisure activities, work and day programming.
  • All chores necessary to maintain as normal a living environment as possible, i.e., laundry and housekeeping.
  • Escorts residents via Allegheny Valley School vehicles or emergency vehicles to doctors' offices, health centers or emergency rooms.
  • Communicates transportation needs to Supervisor on a timely basis to ensure individual receives the most efficient response to return to normal routine.
  • Insures safe transportation, i.e., secures wheelchairs and residents in vehicles and supervises during transport.
  • Reports to appropriate appointment on time and informs the parties of any pertinent resident information.
  • Develops and maintains professional rapport with personnel of doctors' offices, clinics and hospital
  • Is aware of residents' needs (i.e., change of clothing, personal items, lunches, etc.) for off-campus appointments.
  • Verbally reports any concerns regarding medical or professional treatment of individuals to Health Services Supervisor or appropriate supervisory staff.
