Director of Product Management, Platform

What We Seek

Carnegie Learning is seeking a highly technical, dynamic Director of Product Management, Platform to join our quickly expanding Platform team. In deep partnership with product and engineering leadership, this role is responsible for evolving the underlying systems and user experiences upon which Carnegie Learning's suite of instructional programs sits.

We are seeking a highly driven individual with proven leadership skills, the ability to think critically and problem-solve, and a solid understanding of how EdTech platforms integrate, interoperate and form the foundation of elegant customer experiences.

What Your Day Will Look Like

  • Apply your extensive knowledge of systems engineering, software architecture, development, and integration to lead and manage complex teams and projects.
  • Facilitate integration solutions focused on rostering/ SSO, licensing, class management, user identity, security, and LMS interoperability across platforms for school districts throughout the US.
  • Ideate solutions with Engineering, Data Teams, Design, and Customer Support to roadmap and prioritize system features, functionality, and product technical enhancements.
  • Drive platform integration discussions and workshops with key stakeholders and technology partners to map technical solutions to customer outcomes and value..
  • Direct the work of cross-functional teams with agile methodologies, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation
  • Encourage and build learning and development opportunities for the supporting team.
  • Manage and make conscious decisions in regards to budgeting, resources, and strategy.
  • Present complex information regarding platform development and integration to all levels within Carnegie Learning when required.
  • Maintain a keen eye on the evolving edtech landscape, identifying emerging trends, technologies, and potential partnerships that can enhance our product offerings and integration capabilities.

What Should Be In Your Bookbag

  • Deep commitment to leveraging technology to create delightful user experiences.
  • Proven track record creating platform experiences with deeply technical products and solutions in the education technology sector.
  • Expertise in the technical aspects of educational technology integrations, including identity management, rostering systems, LMS platforms, and grade passback functionalities.
  • Working knowledge of OneEdTech and related standards and technologies.
  • Demonstrated leadership of cross-functional initiatives, with a focus on user experience and technical excellence
  • Exceptional communication skills, capable of conveying complex technical concepts and strategies to a diverse audience, including non-technical stakeholders.
  • A deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities in the edtech space, especially regarding data privacy, security, and compliance with educational standards.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or related technical field, or equivalent experience demonstrating a strong foundation in software development, architecture, requirements scoping, and technical product leadership.
