Position Summary

The Human Resources (HR) Specialist is responsible for providing support to all functions of the human resources department in order to expedite the overall effectiveness of the department in a manner consistent with the organization's mission. The HR Specialist follows federal and state regulations for completing and maintaining required employee documentation. The HR Specialist must maintain confidentiality of information and exercise discretion when providing information.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Ensures that personnel files are maintained in accordance with applicable laws and policies and assists with preparing personnel files for program audits.
  • Tracks expiring clearances, as required by state and program regulations, and contacts employees/programs accordingly to coordinate and obtain new documents.
  • Processes Workers' Compensation claims, ensuring that all forms are completed and submitted to external parties, and handles all follow up requests for information.
  • Processes Leave of Absence (LOA) requests, including but is not limited to, Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Workers' Compensation, Short-Term Disability (STD), etc.
  • Assists with creating Wellness Program content and communicates program information
  • Maintains data within the HRIS and other HR systems.

Working Conditions

  1. Physical Demands. Requires vision, speech, and hearing.
  2. Environmental Factors. Office; remote; travel to Pressley Ridge physical locations which include residential and educational facilities.
  3. Working Hours. Traditional Business Hours Monday - Friday; flexibility to meet department needs.
  4. Travel. Occasional travel to programs required, including multi-day and overnight travel.
Qualifications

Education
Bachelors of Human Resource Administration (preferred)
High School (required)

Experience
No working experience required for bachelor's level. Two to five years of administrative experience required if no degree. Experience supporting a Human Resources Department is preferred. (required)
