The Assistant Program Director will be responsible for:

  • Manage supervisors and/or individuals contributors and delegates tasks and activities to staff to ensure program and quality standards are met.
  • Manages daily operation of program(s); implements policies/procedures as directed.
  • May manage a caseload of their own.
  • Develops and maintains the clinical and administrative coordination of all aspects of the program, its individuals, and staff.
  • Maintains group schedules, if needed.
  • Typically monitors treatment authorizations and plans and ensures that individual treatment and support plans are developed and maintained.
  • Reviews care and treatment of individuals and review program processes to ensure individuals are supported.
  • Monitors program performance in light of key indicators and compiles data as requested.
  • Represents program(s) in ongoing status meetings with County, State, and managed care providers.
  • Represents Merakey regarding funding in absence of Program Director.
  • Assists with the development of quality improvement efforts, and reviews and evaluates program goals, activities, policies and procedures.
  • Participates in the marketing, development, and expansion of programs.
  • May serve as an activities coordinator.
  • Disseminates clear expectations to staff, ensuring they have the tools they need, monitors performance, and follows through if expectations are not met.
  • Assist with Interviews, hire, train, and support a level of staffing to meet individual/staff ratio requirements and program operations.
  • Develops and enhances employee competence and effectiveness by providing ongoing guidance, performance evaluation, mentoring, career growth, feedback and motivation to staff while adhering to program and Merakey policies and procedures.
  • Oversees terminations, willful misconduct and higher-level violations to ensure all policies and procedures are adhered to consistently, per collective bargaining unit agreement and guidelines. Holds supervisors accountable for handling bargaining unit fact finding and grievance related to violations such as attendance and performance. In absence of Program Director, is accountable for fact finding an grievances for such violations.
  • In the absence of Program Director, documents attendance, verifies weekly timesheets, monitors available leave and schedule adherence, approved and denies leave requests, and tracks FMLS usage.
  • Ensures a meaningful and productive activity schedule for individuals to include skill training groups and treatment programs specifically targeting those areas of need identified in the service planning process.
  • Teaches, communicates and demonstrates behavior in support of Merakey Core Values.
  • Develops and models collaborative work environment in support of Merakey Core Values.
  • All other duties as assigned .
  • Strong ability to use technology and to learn new technology quickly and encourage other to do so.
