Job Description

Work Days and Expected Hours:

Monday - Friday: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

(Additional hours as necessary to meet the objectives of the department)

Function: Supervise the Consumer Loan Operations Post Close and HMDA staff and processes within the Consumer Loan Operations area. Responsible for developing process efficiencies and assisting with the management of compliance and regulatory updates.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Monitors Post Close and HMDA staff to guarantee exceptional customer services levels are met.

  • Supervise a staff of Post Closer(s), who are responsible for the accurate funding of Home Equity Loans and document exception reporting on Consumer and Home Equity loans.

  • Supervise a staff of HMDA Specialist(s), who are responsible for the accurate reporting of the HMDA Loan Application Register. Completes the HMDA import to the LAR, within regulatory timing requirements. Monitor reporting to ensure errors remain within regulatory tolerances.

  • Follows up on final settlement documents (i.e. recorded mortgage and mortgage modifications, title policy).

  • Monitors document exception reports and ensures items are cleared in a timely.

  • Prepares on-line dollar and proof difference reports daily, and makes corrections as needed.

  • Provides ongoing training and/or assistance to existing staff as well as new bank personnel.

  • Maintains proficiency in consumer loan origination software, Microsoft Word, Excel, Internet searches, E-mail, Metavante Insight, and Optima along with the upgrades to these programs or replacement software and any other conduit available to process applications.

  • Exercises a high-level of accuracy, initiative, interpersonal skills, and confidentiality while performing tasks to contribute the success of the department and organization.

  • Assists with the development and maintenance (including updates) of the Consumer Loan Operations Post Close and HMDA Desktop manuals to be used as both a training and reference manual.

  • Provides ongoing training and/or assistance to existing staff as well as new bank personnel.

  • Interacts with outside third-party vendors to ensure perfection of security interest on home equity loans.

  • Required to remain current on all regulatory, legal and compliance changes and to effectively communicate to the Consumer Loan Post Close and HMDA staff.

  • Reviews and recommends improved operational policies and procedures to the AVP Consumer Loan Post Close and Quality Control Manager and ensures proper implementation and adherence of revisions.

  • Recommends course of action to staff on systemic and process changes, conduct group and one-on-one training sessions with staff.

  • Makes recommendations for personnel regarding employment, performance ratings, salary changes promotions, transfers, and terminations.

  • Takes corrective action (within designated authority) as it relates to deficiencies found in support documents. Serves as the escalation point for all issues with servicing.

  • Responsible for staffing and all personnel including coordination of scheduling to assure staffing levels meet the needs of the department and the bank.

  • Maintains a good working relationship with co-workers, vendors, and bank customers. Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently, as well as motivation to work as a team player to contribute to success the organization.

  • Performs all additional duties as required.

Physical Demands

Operates a keypad device 80% of the day. Operates electronic equipment 80% of the day. Must be able to focus visually at a close distance of 18"-20" for computer work for a period of up to 40% of the business day. Education

Requires a high school diploma or equivalent, plus specialized training or a two-year degree.

Experience

Requires five to ten years general business experience with five to ten years of specialized experience to include Consumer Lending, documents and regulations, mentoring/training new staff, and training manual construction.

Salary Range:

$36,438.00 - $70,000.00
