Lecturer

West Virginia University School of Nursing invites applications for a 9-month, Part-time FTE 0.33 Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing Lecturer position in Non Tenure Track. This position will report to the Chair of the Family/Community Health Department.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Didactic Teaching in psychiatric/mental health nursing the BSN program.
  2. Clinical Teaching in psychiatric/mental health nursing the BSN program. In addition to clinical teaching, other formats of teaching, including
  3. skills lab, small group, and simulation teaching may be included.
  4. Advising students in the BSN program.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science degree in nursing and be enrolled in a graduate degree program with a major in nursing within one year of employment as a faculty member; or have a bachelor's degree with a major in nursing and at least two years of direct patient care experience in nursing.

  • Required to have unencumbered WV RN License by position start date.
  • Applicants with three years of teaching experience in nursing are encouraged to apply.
  • Demonstrable ability of current nursing practices sufficient to demonstrate professional competence.
  • Initial appointment for Instructor in Clinical Education Track requires: two years of professional nursing practice experience.
