This position is located at UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh in Lawrenceville. Evaluates patients' qualification in research projects and subject groups. Schedules and conducts study visits. Collects clinical, laboratory, and patient data; processes lab specimens. Performs general laboratory duties and phlebotomy tasks. Ensures regulatory adherence.
* Assesses patients for qualification/enrollment in research projects and subject groups.* Schedules and coordinates study visits with study participant/s. Conducts study visits; collects clinical and laboratory data as required for completion of all case report forms.* Collects patient data, including medical histories and physical assessments. Maintains and facilitates data into databases/logs in a timely and accurate manner.* Performs general laboratory duties including, but not limited to, monitors supply inventory, monitors temperatures of freezers and refrigerators, cleans equipment, and disposes of biological waste. Performs phlebotomy duties and insertion of intravenous catheters, in addition to other general nursing duties.* Obtains consents from parents of underage patients and/or patients.* Collects, prepares, and processes lab specimens.* Ensures all protocol and regulatory standards adherence.* Participates in the development of internal review board submissions as requested.
