Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a Work Control Maintenance Planner to work in our Work Control and Facility Scheduling department. Our team works a 9x80 schedule located out of our Research and Education Campus (REC) in Idaho Falls with every other Friday off. All work is performed onsite.

You will develop fabrication, I&C, electrical, and mechanical work instructions that provide safe, workable instructions using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS). You will report directly to the manager of the Work Control and Facility Scheduling department.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Ensure written instructions comply with INL work control process, and with Training, ESH&Q, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Be the contact for resolving work control issues from initiation to work completion.
  • Collaborate on work control documents with affected organizations. Provide input to engineering and research organizations based on experience of work control planning for facilities.
  • Perform walkdowns of job sites with appropriate SMEs to identify hazards and appropriate mitigations and incorporate into work control document.
  • Estimate labor hours and material costs to complete activities.
  • Collaborate with appropriate crafts, customers, and other subject matter experts in work planning activities to fully understand the hazards involved in performing work.
  • Represent the Facilities and Site Services organization on committees when requested by management.
  • Determine appropriate materials necessary to complete requested activities. Obtain assistance from Engineering for materials requiring engineering specification. Order required materials and track status to support work scheduling.
  • Identify and develop preventive maintenance procedures for assigned facilities. Comply with applicable internal documents and regulations.
  • Review completed work orders and resolve feedback. Work with Facility Managers and crafts to understand and apply recommended improvements. Make appropriate work control documents revisions.
  • Mentor other planners in areas of experience through the "On the Job Training" process of qualifying operators on equipment.
  • Complete and maintain qualification specified for assigned tasks.
  • Provide input to engineering and research organizations based on understanding of work control planning for REC facilities.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of relevant experience, master's degree and at least 1 year of relevant experience, or 10+ years of electrical, HVAC, plumbing, or construction experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.
  • Office 365 experience.
  • Experience operating and maintaining industrial mechanical systems.
  • Proficiency testing current protection devices.
  • Experience with electrical distribution systems and components.
